Can I use HOK Shimrin base and Candy urethane over Deltron DBC base coat?

If so, who's clear coat should I use, HOK or Deltron?

Thanks,
Ed

I've used HOK base over DBC and PPG cleared it.I'd imagine the candy would be fine but I'm not sure so ask about that one.

Ed. I don't normally recommend mixing and matching deferent manufacture's products because you may get unwanted surprises do to incompatibility. But you probably won't have any problems using HOK over a catalyzed Deltron base, though I would highly suggest finishing it off with a HOK clear.

I use HOK over PPG DBC products alot. Before I but the HOK over the DBC I always spray one coat of DBC 500 blending clear over all the parts, then, before I clear I always spray anouther coat of DBC 500 blending clear over all the parts, then I use PPG DCU 2042 clear.

I have not had any trouble yet !!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

I just saw that you said Candy urethane. I have not used that I have been using the new Kandy that is like a base coat.

House of Kolor calles it (KBC)

If you're using the urethane candy I would definately use the HOK clear to avoid a hardner reaction,I missed that part before.Shouldn't have any problem with the DBC base though.Years ago PPG supplied alot of the raw materials for HOK to make their products but I can't find anything out since Valspar took them over.PPG's DT reducers are all anyone around here uses in HOK products.
