hok dry pearls

is it ok to use dry hok pearls with ppg paint system?

I've gone as far as using HOK reducers with PPG clears without a problem. I know most would recommend against it, but in a pinch it worked for me.

As far as the Dry Pearl, you shouldn't have any problems at all. I've used both HOK and PPG dry pearls mixed with the others clears and haven't had a problem. I believe the HOK tech manual may even say it's ok to mix dry products.

As long as it's a dry flake/pearl you can put it in anything you like-top clear,base clear or color.I know quite a few people using PPG reducer in HOK but I haven't known anyone to reverse it till now.I'd have to say PPG's reducers are probably more refined and hotter than HOK,but as far as I know until Valspar took over HOK PPG supplied them alot of raw materials to make their paint line.
