OK, so I just got the HoK chip book to pick out something for my truck (90 Chevy shortbed). I was thinking of doing the flames (over white or pewter, can't make up my mind) in one of the Shimrin Kandy Basecoats, namely Apple Red as shown sprayed over a metallic red. But the Razzberry color shown in the Designer Pearls also looks pretty nice.
Whick of the two would be easier to shoot? I'm wanting to avoid mottling and striping. The truck will be basically two toned, only HoK red from the body line up, but this will include the hood and roof.
I've not had any problems shooting a PPG candy red on small stuff but am a tad concerned about the large flat panels I'll be dealing with on the truck.
Here's a rough Photoshop of what I'm looking to do:

Hey Kev, whats up? Pbc 34 Razzberry pearl on top of Orion silver (fbc) would look pretty kool, or at least i think it would.

and it would be alot easier to repair than the candy would be.

They will both be equally easy to shoot.
KBC's are very easy to use. They shoot like regular metallics. 3 coats and you're done.
If using the KBC, it will require extra coats of the base paint to achieve desired color. So if you want to save time and money, because of the extra paint and clear to bury that edge, go with the Razzberry.
Best of luck,
Dirt

Oops, yeah i did mean ez, my bad.
Been working the past month at a body shop but that didn't pan out. Hard to make any money when your boss is too busy frying out his brain to get any jobs finished up.
I really haven't been doing many custom jobs lately but have done a few repair jobs. I'm hoping once I get my truck finished up it'll help draw some custom biz.
How many custom jobs do you average in month?
