Was Wondering if the ice pearls go into the clear coat?Instead of intercoat clear, can you use the ice pearls in the first or second coat of clear? How would red ice pearl look over say Blue blood red?I would use very little and assuming to spray in both directions, any help on this would be great,I don't want to stripe or blotch it on my 66Chevelle.Jim

I've used Ice Pearls several times and would put it in an Intercoat clear then dust it on until you get the coverage you want, of course that's for tanks and such. The manual says 2-4 medium (almost wet) coats with a 75% overlap. 6-8" gun distance, 50psi at the gun. It also says large objects require less pearl, start low and add pearl slowly. For dark bases/ 2 tsp, for light bases/3-4 tsp. per quart of clear.
The effect is killer in the sunlight, quite a brilliant sparkle. Red over red would be cool.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Dirt,I never sprayed a large object like a car yet,I have no dought about the base and clear coming out,I'm just a little nervous about doing something with pearl or candy for this first big job,I would hate to have to strip it all over again.I like the light dusting idea,I'm sure even coverage would be easier to maintain that way.I found out with pearl, less is more.Too much just blows together.I'm still kicking around some ideas.thanks,Jim
