HOK over Gel Coat

[Rookie]

Has anyone painted over a gel coat, such as an RV or Boat. I have an old RV that is gel coated and needs new paint. I looked into having it gel coated again, until I saw the price. I thought I would shoot some HOK on it. Anyone ever do this, what do I look out for? Any help would be appreciated.

Last year,I painted a Bounder motorhome,just use a good wax and grease remover,600 it down and spray a primer/sealer,then paint and clear.Jim

Yeah, Gel is like a really, really, thick paint. I would block it down flat and spray it.

If you ever saw how they repair Gel coat, you would croak! Car paint makes that stuff look like fingerpainting.....
