hok over old helmet paint

i have an old shoei helmet i want to paint but what i was wondering is will it be ok to spray the hok finishes over the helmets paint. i was thinking of using a sealer and going with it? what do you think?

do it. i've had no problems, but it's said that the gel coat of the helmet will come back later and cause some problems.

just sand it down w/ some 600 and soap, degrease well and go for it. i've never used a sealer either.

you may want to use a little adhesion promoter to limit any gel coat problems that may come up to haunt you later on.. Then carry on as suggested. Just a little extra preventive measure.
