hok paints

i'm painting a motorcycle tank this weekend and was curious if anyone is familiar using another companies clear over the hok. I know this is a touchy subject but my supplier said that to get gallons of hok clear shipped from cali to PA would be quite expensive. i was wondering if anyone has tried this. I'm not looking to use cheap clear ppg or dupont or another good name. any info would be appreciated.

thanks i really appreciate it does ppg make a quick clear i know omni has something quick i think its 260. does ppg have a version of this because i'd like to use something like 260 but of a better qulity line like ppg. I'm also going to be painting a jet ski next weekend i was wondering if you had any recomendations for a good clear that would stand up to the water usage.

PPG's 2042 in the Concept line is pretty quick.I think you have to use the 61 hardner but if you can still use the old DU 4,5 or 6 use the 61 anyway.It mixes 4-1-1 and is a 2 coat clear.Don't really hose it on though because it will slightly solvent pop compared to the 2021 and 2002,but it'll buff right out if it does.I can't say about the water deal.Might want to ask the jobber or have him call the rep to find out what they say.It should hold up well but I don't know about the longevity of it.
