how do I shadow flames?

Lets say I have a yellow basecoat and a black flame. Do I mix a drop of black into some of the yellow and go back over and shadow it? Do I mix a little black or grey into intercoat clear and spray the shadows with that? What works best?

when i spray drop shadows i over reduce a batch of black and shoot that through an airbrush. i dont have a exact mesurement for it i just keep adding sg100 until i get a very transparent black

Another cool thing to do IF it's the look you want is to use the complimenting color for a drop shadow. For example on a yellow base coat you might want to do a over reduced violet for the drop shadow. If you're looking for something more realistic looking then go EZ's route.
