blacksnake,
Do a search for "outline" using the above button. You will find quite a few posts on this topic. Be sure and search "all" forums.

Glad you enjoy the site and Flames Board

You could just buy a Mack tripple-aught (000) sword and learn to pinstripe...or you could buy a bugeler tool that helps you pinstripe, or you could buy some of that 'pinstripe masking material' from excaliber corp and try to lay it out to paint between the lines (havent ever seen that done for flames, but it might work...or you could think about putting the stripes on before you spray the flames, mask the flames, spray around the edging of your flames with whatever color you want your pinstripes to be, the run a peice of 1/16th fineline tape rightalong the inside of your original flame masking area, then paint your flames as normal...when you unmask, your pinstripes will be perfectly 1/16" uniform all the way around...the only thing is, they will probably look a little 'too' uniform...most flames you see have a little hand-wiggle in the pinstripes that makes them look 'right'.

I personally Tape off and airbrush my flames to ensure a very uniform FLAT pinstripe. Using a brush tends to leave a thicker edge. This also gives a perfect point at the tip of your flames. It's very time consuming, but I am a stickler for detail and it's worth the extra time for a CLEANER overall paintjob.
