How long before it spoils

i've been painting for a while now but one thing i have always wondered and never got around to asking is how long after i open a container of paint will it still be useable? how about hardeners, activators, and so on.

if your paint is well sealed and kept in a cool place it should keep for a very long time. By cool I don;t mean a fridge. Larger quanties will also keep longer than smaller amounts. Catalysts are another story, sometimes they will keep for months and other times thier done in a month . Again well sealed up and in a cool place. I usually put smaller quanties in small containers that will be filled up with the leftovers. They seem to keep much much longer.
