How Much Should It Cost?

Looking for a ballpark figure to have a 68 Camaro painted. Want to use a tangerine color then clear with a little pearl dust mixed in with clear... (color to be determined). Using PPG or HOK paints. No body work or straightening req'd. Just sand ,tape and shoot. THEN color sand and buff. I might even want to do a 3 stage Kandy job. What would be an appropriate cost to have this done going either way? Looking for labor cost only... Thanks in advance.

Lots of variables in the equasion but I'd say pure labor from a shop will run you $1000 to over double that for candy with jambs.Don't let price be your deciding factor though.Usually the higher priced shop has someone who can do it right and you wont have $800 worth of material be a mottled up mess that looks like sh!t and needs to be redone.Ask for examples of their work and look at them.There are a few guys around here that tell you they're the best and sprayed barrels of the custom stuff but if you look at the jobs they're aweful,mottled or streaked candy,pearl buildup at gaps from painting 'normally',delaminations,it's a friggin joke.
