Hi everybody, i guess im breaking the virginity on this post so here we go...Im pretty young (21) so havent got much experience at this..but do have some and im a fast learner. Ok so what im working on is a 95 mitsubishi 3000gt that im twin turboing...almost done with the easy part...and i want to paint it lamborghini yellow. Its already an oem sunlight yellow metallic. I found the color i want, its called giallo orion pearl in lambo terms. I also want to do black down the center of the car because the roof is almost all glass and windows are going to be blacked out anyway, and i think it'll make the yellow stand out and look sleeker. So i want to do just a nice gloss black, no metallics in it for that, with a pearl yellow on the sides and wherever else i feel like it...but anyway what i'm getting at here is do i paint the whole car black then go at the yellow on top of that?? I actualy want a little darker yellow anyway, would that be the way to go, would it have any effect at all, or should i just order a darker yellow and do a base yellow under the pearl? Any other ideas that i dont know about id like to here also. Thanks guys!!

I would spray the car in the yellow basecoat. Then apply the pearl over that (if it is a true 3 stage paint that requires the pearlcoat). Then I would mask up the car so only the areas you want painted black. Then go ahead and paint your black, pull all the mask off. Then clearcoat the complete car.
You may want to add a nice thin stripe to separate the two colors. Possibly a black in the yellow area. Or even a charcoal metallic stripe right on the edge.
