how to lay out checker board???

I am planning on doing a pearl checkerboard pattern, but can't seem to figure out how to lay out the tape without having the 1/8 in. tape lines at the intersections of the checkers. Could someone please explain in detail or maybe post a few pics of a layout in progress???? Thanks, very much appreciated

The only thing I found about checkerboard was your duplicating of a different paint job. No explaination of how the checkerboard is done. HELP

Well, tell us where you found it (grin). I tried to search for "checkerboard", and it only returned one article, the one about repainting a damaged tank to match the other half. </cr>
Seriously, I'm planning a checkboard for my wife's bike, and have a couple concerns as well.</cr>
