You could get a mixing lid for it which contains a spout to pour from.

Well, if you pour it into a bucket you shouldn't have much spillage!!!!

Head down to Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, whatever large home improvement joint you may have and head to the paint department. Most will usually have several different devices to attach to your can for pouring. I work in a mass transit bodyshop. We buy replacement lids that have a colaspable spout/lid like you find on a 5 gal pail. They are under $2 each. The spout can be pushed down when shaking the can and then pulled up to remove the cap for pouring. We have also used a funnel type attachment which snaps into place once the lid is removed. We quit using this because we got tired of cleaning it after each use.

If it's unreduced get another gal can and pour 1/2 off.Don't forget to clean out the lip from the pouring can if you aren't using it all then.Mix what you have or pour off again what you want from the first can.

punch 2 holes on the opposite sides of the lid .
a smaller one for the vent and a larger for the pourer.
just open the can stir the color, put the lid back on and pour away into whatever you need to.
then you can wash off the paint on the lid and seal it with masking tape.
If you are going to keep the paint for a longish time the you should get another lid for storing it .
