How to paint over chrome?

i read somewhere earlier in this forum that you can soak it in bleach, like pure bleach for a few minutes and it should come off, you could give that a try. i dont know where your going to fit a bumper with bleach, besides a bathtub. but, you can give it a shot. otherwise, you can go to like streat-beat.com, and buy a fiberglass front bumper that you can paint, and i dont think it would cost too much

If the chrome is sound you can sand it and use a good sealer before painting.If it's got bad spots have it sandblasted off and go from raw steel.

I have a factory chrome bumper on my truck that I want to paint to match the rest of the truck. How do you prep the chrome to be painted on? Is there a way to remove the chrome? Thanks in advance.
