HVLP GTI PRO HELP!!!!!k

Hi guys im new to the forum. I need help.... i just bought a devilbiss gti pro with 1.4 head setup..... although iv been painting with a sata pot gun for a few years now i cannot for the life a me get a good finish from this gun:crap:... the gun is mint inside and out.... when i paint i get serious orange peel ****E!!!:sillyme:... and its as if the gun isnt atomizing the paint correctly and its leaving a **** finish.... instead of puttin out a fine mist like my sata its like painting with a water pistol... also can i use 2k paint in this gun??? iv been using waterbased so far.... or can i use the same gun for bace coat and clear??? any help would be seriously appreciated :bigokay:

A 1.4 spray head will do basecoat , clear coat . Try cutting back on the material by adjusting the needle . Not the fan control , but the material control . You may also need to adjust air pressure also .

Im with goat on this you have a good gun but for waterborn paint the Tekna should of been your first choice try on a scrap panel to up the air pressure and spray from 6-8 inches from the panel the closer you are the faster you will need to move (duh right) you can bash me later on this lol and make sure the needle is full open


what pressure did you spray at? What distance were you spraying? using the right reducer for temp? stupid questions I know but they all matter
