I hate my cars paint job!!

I hate the paint job on my car, the paint on it is factory not custom when I first bought the car it was dirty as it has been sitting in the car lot. After taking it home and washing it the paint job still looked ****y, lots of specs in the paint, dirt that didn't seem to wash off unless I scrubbed the hell out of it, glide your hand on it and it felt gritty. So pretty much the previous owner did not take very well car of the exterior at all and worst part is is that it's black which is alot more noticable than any color. I've clayed the car now it feels smooth as glass and now working on detailing it with rubbing compound, polish, then wax to finish it off. One thing that is ****in me off is that when you look at the car under the sun some panels have a sort of bluish tint (looks some what faded) to it rather than a deep black look the paint doesnt' match no accedents on the car according to the carfax, autocheck. checked the hinges on the trunk and all 4 doors and don't appear to be tampered with (these are my problem areas). Is there a way to blend them or fix this? I really don't want to go into a new paint job. will post a pic soon so you all can really see what i'm talking about.

Keep in mind, a car doesn't have to be in an accident to be painted. From what you are saying, the car has been repainted (hence all the dirt specs in the paint).
If you plan on blending all the panels, you might be better off just repainting the complete car. Black is a cheaper color to do as far as materials go. Should be able to buy all the materials for about $300-$400 or so.

When I said specs its caus there were alot of contaminants that bonded to the the finish but all that has been solved after claying the whole car It's just the discoloured pannels that are bothering me. I've tried a few product that claim to remove oxidation and restore color but seem to only have very little effect if non at all. I can't get it to have that deep black look. I've never had a car painted before so does the make and model of the car affect the price? My car is an 07 jaguar s type R.

here is an example of my trunk and rear side pannels, the side pannels have a very deep black look to it but the trunk look like a dull or faided black.

You could always try buffing it out. to see if it brings the color back.
Hard to tell in the pic that you attached.

But to answer your original question since repainting the car is out of the question, yes, you should be able to blend the panels, then reclear them. But I would think by the time your done with it, you've blended quite a bit of the car, and recleared most of it. You'd probably find it would be easier just to sand the complete car and repaint it.

if its dull of faded, it could very well just need to be buffed out. i have had great success with meguiars m205 and m105, a porter cable 7424, and CCS orange pads bringing paint back to life. the picture looks a little like the paint is terribly scratched, which can make it appear faded or dull. on blending and recearing, i'm with taz. i found the wok involved in repainting( after going against what i had read from the experienced folks) really isnt much more some times than doing some blending here and there. as for the price of a paint job, i'm a hobbiest and make and model havent effect price yet. the size of the vehicle would effect the price more to me. an 07 jaguar s type R would use less material and less prepwork involved than a ford F 350 dually crew cab. the materials being used would effect the price too. theres some pretty pricey bc/cc's out there.

The word that I was looking for was paint inconsistency. I have the same issue on my honda as well although it doesn't bother cause I bought it to save gas and keep the milage down on the jag. The honda is a metalic green and some panels do not match. I figure I try some wet sanding on the honda and see if I cant blend the colors to match.

this pic might be a little better see how deep the side panel is compaired to the top of the trunk? The scratches are due to compouding just havent polished it out yet.

It actually looks pretty cool with the darker tone fade on the edges. Not sure if that was the intent from the get-go, but it's got a subtle fade of jet-black to a paler, but still defined black.
