I need a book

I am going to venture into the world of painting this winter, mainly to paint my own bike. Would like a book going through the details of cusom paint jobs, it doesn't need to get into airbrushing and things, but basics including fading and things of that nature. I have no desire to paint anything larger than a motorcycle, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what kind of info your looking for but, John Kosmoski has a couple of books on "the secrets of custom painting". I didn't really learn any secrets there but, he goes through in lots of detail about prep, base and clear coat. Also does a flame job and a scallop thing. You can get it through Barnes and Noble or Amazon. A little beter book is out from Craig Fraser. I can't think of the name of it but, he spends more time on airbrush and not the basics of painting.
