Oct 5th I finally recieved a comp from Sears. I had to wait about 3 weeks for it, but it was worth the wait.
It was listed at 850, but I managed to get it for 750.
Model No. 919.167800
7 horse single phase 240/60/1 (what ever that means) 30 amp circuit.
80 gallons cut in 140 cut out 175 scfm @ 100 17.4 scfm @ 175 16.9
I find the specs a bit optimistic, but it keeps up well with everything on 125 feet of 3/8ths hose. The tank mounted gauge goes to 160 psi. At the 25 foot point there is a drop to 140 with the 3/8ths hose and the 2 1/4" connectors. I don't know what the psi drop is past that, but things work well.
I was concerned that it needed a mag starter, but it does not.
You do need a wire and plug though. I used a dryer outlet, and so it has a dryer lead.
Also it has no regulator, and I ran it with out one for a time untill I decided to order one from Harbor freight for about 30 bucks.
This is mounted 25' feet of hose later, and I work off that, with 2 50's to get to where my work is currently. Seldom do I need wait to run air grinders, and or DA's.
I was grinding heavily and had a guy go watch the gauge, and he said it would not drop past 90 psi.
This is a 2 stage comp... the first stage comps the ait to apx 50 psi before it goes into the 2nd stage.
It does require some room to breath, and I placed it in what is called the pit here where I live, as I don't have anything like a proper shop. I benifit from the heat generated right now. Come summer the door to that room will need to be opened, and another fan set to blow out that door.
Oh one last thing... This is a aluminum cast iron sleeved comp, made by Ingersol Rand.
With just me using it, I figure it will last the rest of my life.... Mac
