I am using HOK I sprayed primer, BC 02 silver, then started kandy cobalt blue using UK. When I started to spray the UK, I had a gun problem and made a big mess ( way to much paint, runs etc....) can I sand this mess flat down to the origional base or do I have to go to bare again? I was thinking of shooting a coat of sealer then base then try again with the Kandy. I think sealer in case I dont get all the blue off. Am I on the right track? HELP!!!

Thanks

.You at least need to go back down to the base and lay another coat of silver down.Good luck though, sanding back down to a certain level is fun to say the least. No biggie if you have the time to do it though.I personally would rather go back to the sealer and rebase it but you can rebase and go at any point (unless the base will react with the candy).Big bummer man,I feel for you

well I made it even worse. I tried sanding then 2 coats of sealer then silver base. The silver base cracked as soon as applied every where the kandy had been. I'm going to strip it and start over no big deal I have the time.

Thanks

Oooh, sorry man,I didn't mean to give a bad answer.I guess I'll stay off these HOK deals until I play with it and experience how sensitive this stuff is.Sorry.

no rex you didn't give a bad answer I just got in a hurry and I didn't sand it as well as I needed to. Also It's going to be pretty thick so I think it is best to start fresh. I have all winter.

Haha,it's your fault, should have blamed it on me when I gave you the chance

It makes me feel better but I still feel for you,a redo sucks the big one.Actually I was getting nervous because we always screw with each other at work and thought maybe I forgot this is for real, rereading my post it could be interpreted differently than intended. We constantly make things up for answers, really screws with someone that's somewhat 'green' overhearing things and not knowing we're jerking around. Here's a great one for mechanics-gotta replace the air in the tires at season's change, can't have cold winter air in the tire at warmer temps and vice versa,it'll throw off the pressure from a different expansion rate.Believe it or not there are people that will believe you.Of course after a good laugh I have to tell them the truth and let them in on it,I hate to have someone believe a fallacy and sure don't want my name thrown into it.You still should have blamed it on me though
