I have a customer who wants glossy bass-boat metal flake flames over flat black. I'm trying to figure out how to do this with a minimum of an edge. any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

maybe if you pinstripped the edge to hide it a little /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif?

This isn't easy with the flake....it's gonna screw you unless you do it first and level it and then flat black it.Another prob is you want flat clear instead of flattened black singlestage to avoid chalking out so that's going to leave a pretty decent edge too. It'll be the lesser of 2 evils but still a good edge.

I'm gonna be doing this on my 67 GMC pickup. The truck already has 3 coats of suede black paint on it and will receive one more after I wetsand all the orange peel and the couple runs off it. I am just gonna tape it off, shoot the flames, clear it, remove the tape and then pin stripe by brush with blue to try and hid some of the edge. This is probably the only way to do it
