interclear is used to protect a base coat

so youd lay a base colour coat first say a shimirin gold

then youd lay an interclear coat over your gold
this protects your base

then lay out some flames

if the flames go wrong you can scrub them out without affecting your base colour

hope this helps

It's just clear basecoat used for the reasons above. If you do have a paint mistake over it remember it's basically the same as a coat of base so not only is it not solvent proof but it will also sand right through if you get down on it.I believe 4 coats is max at one time but you still want to keep everything as thin as possible. If you want a couple coats of this for something you're better off with 2 coats of good clear to sand and keep going.

It's different than the shiny topcoat clear you use at the end of coloring.Intercoat clear is exactly like your basecoat except there's no pigment there. Most paint systems have a clear in the mixing rack of tints and if you mix it with the binder if there is one you end up with clear basecoat. If you're going to tape on a high metallic like silver or gold a coat of this stuff will prevent the tapeouts from leaving tracks that will show thru the final clear.
