When using intercoat clear do I have to coat an entire panel every time I use it? Or can I just shoot over the graphics that I don't want to lift when taping over them.
You should shoot the whole panel. If you're mixing up the sg100 whats a couple more oz's and a couple more minutes to insure that you don't screw up the hard part -- the art --- Bones!~
That's fine to do but in reality you only need to spray the graphic you don't want to screw up.
Spray your graphic, do any airbrushing then spray just that graphic. If you were to spray the whole panel each time, and with a multi graphic job, we're talking about a lot of SG100. It recommends no more than four coats max. So just stick with the graphic.

Depending on the paint you're using you don't necessarily have to use it.Some paint used for artwork will melt or wrinkle when cleared directly. The intercoat not only helps prevent this but it also protects the base from tape tracking or pulling metallic if you need to tape things off and it will give you a surface to scuff if you can't clear the base within it's window. Most basecoats have 24hrs to be cleared but at 100 degrees that turns to 6hrs.
This is the first time I heard anyone else hwo's
had this happen to them so I'm posting it here in hopes it will help >>>> SG 100 is also has great adhesion properties too - If I have a job thats been scuffed and sitting for a while (3 weeks...) I'll shoot a coat or two on and then continue with art or clear -- The only bad thing that I've found with SG100 is it will eat airbrush work if you lay it on to heavy - It krinkles and cracks the art underneath it - I had it happen on a flame job - Had to do the whole thing over -- Suked!!!
