I am very new to this and I have a couple of questions for you. On a helmet I am painting, I laind down some kandy tangerine (HOK) and laid a couple of coats of intercoat clear. Now, Should I scuff up the Intercoat clear with some 1500 grit sand paper before I lay down my graphics?? Also, when graphics are overlaping one another, should I sand down the paint edge of the graphic that it on bottom so you will not see it in the top Graphic??

My experience has been when you let the intercoat clear sit for a while, like overnight, scuffing is recomended. I'm not sure what the exact amount of time is before it needs scuffing, maybe someone else can answer that.

As for the graphics, I think it's a good idea to remove the paint edge as much as possible. I usually plan my graphics and cut out the areas so I won't have overlaping edges. It gives a cleaner look, especially after clear coating, because light will reflect off any bumps. Probably not a big deal, but I think it looks better.

With intercoat clear you should wait at least a half hour to tape on it. The tech book says an hour. You can lightly sand it with 500 grit if it sits longer than 12 hours. Personally I use a red scotch brite, you'll have less chance of sanding through.
As far as graphics, definitly sand the the graphic before crossing over it, but good layout and planning will keep that to a minimum.
Hope this helps,
