Intercoat question

I think I seen here a while back that someone said that PPG had a clear that was very similar to HOK's intercoat clear , is this true ? If so which is it ? It would be much easier for me to get PPG than HOK. I have a Sherwin Williams mixing station so if anyone knows off hand is SW has one that would be even sweeter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beat.gif

PPG has a "color blender" clear (Deltron 2000, DBC 500). It's a clear basecoat. I have use it as an intercoat clear before spraying flames. Never had any problems with it even when using over and under Dupont bases. However, I don't know how it compares to HOK since I have never used HOK.

Ask your SW rep or store what they have,I'm sure they have something. In PPG's system it's just the mixing clear (that looks like normal clear) mixed with the binder. The only problem is the ratio is unknown to anyone I ask so I just get it as the color blender in qts.

Unless you use PPG Global. That intercoat clear is a true base coat. D895 reduced 1 to 1 just like any other base in global. It can be mixed with base colors as well to help blend out colors.
