Hi guys I have a question. Im painting my 95 Trans Am Hugger Orange. I have almost a half gallon of unthinned Diamont brand polyester basecoat. I want to add atleast a pint more to it so I will have enough to spray the car. I want to add it now so the color will be uniform versus adding it when Im almost out and then have the color a little off. Also, its nice to have some left over incase of future fender benders. My question is, they dont sell Diamont basecoat anywhere around me anymore so will I be okay adding a pint of Utech brand polyester basecoat? Thanks!
Also, I have mixed different brands before on small projects with no problems but wanted to get a real answer on this being this will be a nice car. Thanks.

I don't think I would mix the two either. If that is mixed 1-1, I would think a gallon would be enough to spray the exterior of the car. It may not be enough if you need it later on, but then you can use another brand and order the paint by the same code.
Be sure and use low pressure and hold your gun closer.

If you don't like this idea, you may want to just buy a gallon of another brand like Omni base plus.
