Hows everyone going? I just started trying to do custom work. Im starting on custom motorcycle helmets first. For the base coats and clear coats I am using a cheap old spray paint setup I got from Lowes (the one you would paint your fence with). I figured its cheaper and I would have to sand it pretty much after every layer anyways. I was looking at spray guns and the compressor specs needed to run them and I tried to go the cheap way out. What I am really looking for is a spray gun that I can use with my airbrush compressor......any ideas? Here's a couple of specs for the compressor I have:
1.5cfm @ 60psi
10-50psi working pressure
1/6hp
.79 gallon air tank

On working on my first helmet already and puttied, sanded, primed, sanded, basecoated, clearcoated, and everything else in between. Its actually looking pretty good and I surprised myself being my first helmet Ive ever done. Anyways, If using an actual spray gun is better, Id rather have/use one. Are there any pretty good cheap spray guns I can use with my airbrush compressor? Since Im only doing helmets I figure the size of my tank wouldn't matter since a motorcycle helmet is not alot of area to cover. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a small compressor will work for you since all you are doing is spraying with that gun.
This will get you by for a while until you get used to it. Once you got good and you sprayed your base and clear with a $500 gun, I'm sure you'd see a difference between that and a $50 gun.
