hello, can I put kameleon cyan to purple flames over hk bc02 silver that's been cleared with sg100 and has silver mini flakes in it. Or do I need to put down a black base before the kameleon.

You need a black base for the Kameleon.
Tape your flames, spray blk, then Kameleon.

I am not yet familiar with the HoK but with Dupont you can spray Chromalusion over virtually any color base and achieve the same effect but because of it's formulation, it works best over black.

Even DuPont says to spray Chromalusion over a value shade of 6. Which is a very dark gray.

You can put it over any color you want but light ones require more material and it still kills the effect.Stuff's too expensive to achieve such a subtle look.

I have on helmets and tanks laid out a base of black, then a flame layout of a light base color then over both bases Chromalusion was sprayed. This has given, very successfully, Chromalusion ghost flames on a Chromalusion base.

PPG's version has a higher pigment to binder ratio and you wont need to use a colored ground coat....
