Kandy Brandywine Base Coat

I like the look of the Kandy Brandywine over a gold base with ghost flames. Just wonder what shade of gold (HOK shade) is best to use as a base. I will likely be using HOK paint. Also does PPG make a similiar paint.

Thanks.

HOK gold base coats come in three colors:
BC-01 Solar gold/medium gold on the yellow side
BC-07 Gamma gold/darker gold on the copper side
BC-12 Zenith gold/light gold on the silver side
In the color book they all look very close to me.
It's up to you what color base but I'd go with solar gold BC-01.
The metallic bases also come in finer metallic or
FBC= fine base coat.

PPG does make golds that are similar to the HOK basecoats....but why would you? A Quart of the HOK should be around $35-$38. **MY** PPG supplier is charging anywhere from $30-$52 for quarts of metallics and pearls...and even at $30, I'd spend the extra $5 and get the HOK just to try to keep my system together.
