Kandy vs. Kandy Basecoat

Thinking about trying Kandy basecoat over a marble instead of using a straight kandy. Seems like they're real close on color depth and I wouldn't need 2 art paint & poly clear. Should be able to shoot KBC, then sg100, right? Must be gettin' lazy in my old age...

Anybody ever tried it?

Just finished helping on a shoot of my bike, we used KBC with intercoat clear, then shot UFC35 with no problem. The guy that is teaching me the trade wanted to shoot KBC instead of Kandy as the KBC is much more forgiving .

If your wanting the kandy tint over a marble you will be alot better off usung a real kandy. The kandy base koat is a lot more solid and therefor will cover more like a metalic then a kandy. I've used KBC a few times and it works well. It is very forgiving unlike a real kandy. I have also found that if your a beginner and you want a real deep kandy color you can use a KBC instead of a metalic and then put a kandy koncentrate (same color as KBC) in some clear and shoot it over the top. It is really forgivening compared to doing a kandy over a metalic like silver and you get a real nice color when your done. It does cost a little more but it can help.

I have never tried either of those, if i was to put down the kandy base by its self then cleared it, would it look like a regular kandy paint job? Thanks
