I am not a painter and would like to know some tips of what to use or not use to keep my new flame job looking like it did when it arrives? any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.

When the paint totally cures, after 30 days, use a good quality non silicone wax for protection ,clear coat doesn't need wax for shine but,it keeps the road grime from sticking to it,and for a normal clean up,3M's Imperial hand glaze works real good.If your gonna clean it up before the 30 days, you can use the hand glaze,it'll still allow the paint to cure.Stay away from cheap wax,it contains grit that will scratch.

Exactly what Jim said.
We will supply you with a bottle of glaze that you can use for the first 30 days (it really will only be a couple of weeks once you actually get your parts including dry time and shipping)

We'll have some more pics of your job up tommorrow. I wanted to wait a few days before I put the emblems on the tank. They are buffed and ready to go though.

By the way "slippy24slide" owns Reference number 142.

Thanks Jim Your the first of many more compliments that Im sure to get. The paint looks awsome to me and its hard not to gloat over the fantastic job Scott has done. What type of cloth should I be using with this glaze?

I use cotton rags you can buy in bulk from paint stores.I use an instant detailer from Mothers or Meguires in between waxings.A few people swear by Boms Away but I haven't used it.Don't freak over the fine polishing scratches you'll get with time, they're going to happen. After a few years you can buff it out with a polish on a fine foam polishing pad but you don't want to do this constantly because you're actually removing small amounts of material every time.

Slippy,
Cotton like Rex said is real good even a dedicated soft terrycloth towel will work.the clear is still"soft" so to speak and will scratch a little easier now then when it fully cures so just don't rub over dust and you'll be fine.Nice choice of colors!that will be one bad lookin FatBoy!
