Lame tape question

Been lurking here for some time. Lots' of good info and friendly/civilized people here. Very refreshing. I have looked for an answer to this question with no luck. I know you should pull tape while the paint is still wet, but, if you were going to clear coat and fill edges anyway, could you get away with removing tape after it (candy colors) dries?

If I understand you correctly, you are doing graphics or flames in candy and you want to know if you can just let the candy dry before you remove the tape.

Well, you could, but I find if you immediately pull the tape off, or at least the tape directly against the candy, it will leave a softer edged by letting the very edge of the candy to slightly roll. and it seems to be more manageable when clearing. If you let it dry before removing the tape, the edge is a very hard one.

Glad you enjoy the Flames Board! Lot's of talent and information on here.

Hi Scott, thanks for the reply. So is it safe to assume that, although I will have a harder edge, I will still be able to fill it with clear coats and extra elbow grease? Will the candy want to come up with the tape ruining the edge? Thanks again for your help
