Layers question

I am painting the race body work on my bike, using only HOK. The part in question is gonna be lapis blue, then a couple coats of the sg150 or what evr the number is. Then on top of that a small section of the silver white. My question is can I tape over the silver white to do some black Lettering, or will the tape on the silver white pearl mess it up?. Or do I need to lay down the silver white, then the sg again then Tape and do the black lettering?

Assuming you mean SG-100 (inter-clear), you really won't need to do it over the silver white, BUT.. why not to be safe, just do a 'dust coat' over the silver, just to hold the metallics in place. You'll only have to wait about 1/2 hour to an hour before you add your lettering.

Good point, I guess the little extra work isn't worth trying to skip. And yes I meant the 100. Thanks taz
