Looking for Custom paint how to....

Not too long ago I was looking over custom paint designs. It was a marbling effect. I wonder if anyone can point me to any links or websites showing this..

The best way I can explain it...is that a silver base was put first. then a coat of black. Then while the black was still somewhat wet or tacky, they put plastic wrap of some plastic sheeting on the black. When the black was just tacky enough, but not fully dry, the plastic was removed or yanked off. any place the plastic touch the black, it took off the black revealing the silver underneath. Then a color of choice was painted over that, for example a candy red was painted over it. The whole effect of course was this red marblized design. Looked very simple, but just wanted to see it again or any how tows on it.

I can't remember where I saw this, and maybe got there by going thru a few links. If this sounds familiar, please let me know. Much appreciated.

They make a marble type clear that stays wet for a longer amount of time than other clears, but yet it's still a basecoat. You can add any type of paint you would like to it including pearls, metallic, kameleon...
It's made by House of Kolors.
Check it out.

You can do the black over silver or the silver over black.

I haven't seen any how-tos on marble. Maybe I should write one up for the How-To section

Cools. Yeah I am looking into HoK. seems like the paint of choice I read. On avg. How much paint does it take to do a car, small eco-sized car? And how many coats it recommended? 3-4 or more?

Someone else may have to help you out here...
But I would guess it would take about
3-4 quarts of the base, and a couple quarts of the marble (maybe only 1)
Probably a gallon of candy plus the hardener
Plus a gallon of clear and the hardener.
Somewhere around there.
