Marbelizing job

I am intending to shoot HOK candy apple red then clear over a marbelized job. I based the tank, fenders, struts and a cowl in black, let dry for 30 minutes and marbelized over them. Parts look great. Unfortunately, my painting sequence was interrupted beyong the recommended window and I was unable to hit the marbelizer with the required SG-100 before applying the Urethane candy. Can I rough the marbelizer with a grey pad (or wet sand with 400? 600?)and spray the SG-100? What about roughing and spraying another layer of marbelizer for more depth and a brighter apple red color (which I wanted anyway)and then SG-100? I'd hate to start over, but will if I have to. I'll call the HOK tech line but I was interested in any opinions/advice. Thanks.

Very lightly scuff up the surface with a dry gray scotch pad, carefull mo to screw up th marbilization. srray a wet coat of sg100 on top and it will bite into it.
