I'm going to try a marbilized paint job. I am going to be doing design and was wondering if it is better to lay the silver base down first and go with the nuetral marbilzer and over reduce the same silver and go over the top to give more color,or does it make more sense to go with the silver white marbilzer.Do you have to Kandy over every job to get it to look right? I'm hoping to acheive like metal or granite type look. Love this sight. It really helps us inspiring new artists with minimal jobs under our belts get the advice we need and also let's us double guess our procedures to see if we are doing it right. Keep up the good work and happy holidays. I am going to end up spraying a test panel but don't want to buy the wrong color marbilizer. Thank you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tonofbricks.gif

Marbilizer doesn't need a kandy over it to look like Marbilizer. The main use for Kandy is to change the color of the texture.

Spraying silver/white marbilizer over a silver might not show up that well. But darken up the silver a bit and it should start appearing. Do a test panel with different shades of silver on it and then marbilize the whole thing. Plastic wrap it and read the can about different effects you can achieve.

with the HOK marblizers, you need to spray them over a "darker" color if you want to see the marblizer. If you are going to do a silver basecoat then Silver-white marblizer will be almost invisible unless you use a very dark silver basecoat. Don't forget, you also need SG-100 intercoat clear, it has to go over your marblizer before anything else. it's a bit tricky to get the right timing down-pat to lay down the saran-wrap, especially on big pieces. To quickly and your marblizer looks "dripy", too late and it doesn't "marblize". You can spray candy over any of them to change the hues and colors, but you don't have to do that.
