Kind of both but more technique.I believe House of Kolor's is lacquer based. What you do is lay down one color and let it flash. Then you put a different color on top and mess it up.While the color is still wet you lay plastic over it,drag a brush over, anything to remove some of the color and pattern it so the first color shows through.I've heard of some doing it with conventional basecoat with varied results. When you're done you clear it a few times to level it out.I believe HOK needs a coat of base clear before you can topcoat clear it,but I'm not sure.I don't care for it personally, but playing with candies over it looks cool.

Rex, you hit the nail right on the head. the marbilizer is so thin 2 coats of clear is enough to level it out and you are right about the coat of inter coat clear between the marbilizer and uro clear, if you dont use it the marbilizer will lift

and create a mess.

Arthur, i have used it a couple of times it really gives a nice effect weather used for a back groung or using it as a graphic it kind of gives a 3 - d effect giving the paint job some depth and its real easy to do

I don't Know if this is still marble but I've also seen the "marble" have skulls in it.

I'd guess they airbrushed in the skulls, but I suppose you could have a template made up to do it.Sounds like a pain and far fetched, but Joe would know.

the whole skull thing isn't hard at all. ITs very easy. Believe it or not most of the airbrushed graphics are all done with stencils or gerbermask. You just have to know what to do with it, to make it look right.

Great, I'd appreciate that a lot I've been experimenting with skulls freehand with not much success. Something like that would be a huge help. Thanks ezrider.

Arthur, go to www.coastairbrush.com go to the index page, find freehand stencils made by Artool and then find the Skull master and the Son of Skull Master series designed Craig Fraser and you might want to pick up his book also, there are previous posts on the book. this is more than enough to get you skulling.
