how do you get the marble effect in paint? that looks really cool, and i would love to learn how to do it.

You lay down a base color and let it flash off. Then lay another color over it and lay saran wrap or anything on it while it's wet and rub it in.When you pull it off you 'screwed up' the color and pulled some off so you see the first color in places and created a grain in the remaining.Anything can be used to mess it up.

How I get A good marble effect.I use three to four colors to acheive this, the base and a couple of top coats.First I lay down the base in a normal fashion, the second I lower my gun presure a bit so you get allmost a splatter effect and the same with the third coat. I do my light and dark colors back and forth until I get the good grainy marble effect i'm looking for. It dosen't take very long to dry because this is not applied very heavy, let it dry wet sand some of the high points and clear that BAD BOY

put your base down ,you'll need to buy your marblizer paint
it comes in one can ready to use(I use House of Kolor)Untell you can learn how to mix up your own that takes some time and exp.i pref silver to white w/this I can add any Kandy kolor to it for diffrent affects. so your base is on flash it now use air at about 35ips put it on heavy wait 30to 60 second lay on your
wraping papper smooth it down all of it and lift it off .this takes pactice, be sure to read your tec.sheets

Is it that hard to make marble paint? Maybe just adding an accelerator to the paint would help. Anyone ever tried making their own?

To make your own simply buy the neutral marblizer, which is clear, and add any color pearl to it. Or you can add from what I hear metal flake which would be very different if it works out.

I will ask about a clear marblizer ? in the mean time .
I'll say what I know >I do woodgrain.also ,grannets.
when I need to mke up my own marblizer (I do not use an accelerator just the opp. Donald (hi)
I use a slow slow reducer and I use 2 times the amount the tec sheet says when mixing up a inter coat
clear now you can use as much pearl as you like but some consentrat or kandy klolor is the true trick to this.

You don't need to buy the marbilizer, all you need to do is use a basecoat color of your choice, over-over reduce it with very slow reducer, add any special additives ( pearl etc to it if you want) then spray and use your painters plastic or saran wrap or aluminum foil or what ever to mess it up. Of course I spray it on with a med coat, immediatly apply painters plastic, let sit for a short while and remove plastic, change color in gun and continue to layer my colors for a deeper looking marble. You can even take a hand brush ( veining brush) and lightly draw in some cracks or veins, it gives it a great realistic look. You can then Kandy coat or clear coat it or what ever you want, to finish it.
