marbleizing

I was wondering if there is a place on the net where I might be able to get a step by step guide on how to marblize the paint job I am doing on my bike. I like the technique if I can find out how to do it this would be great!!!!

You could try houseofkolor.com and check there tech manuals. Or I could tell you. It is a simple process first of all make sure that if you choose HOK you stay with HOK to the end. Spray on you sealer/primer, black base coat now you ready to spray on your marble. This stuff is ready right from the can no mixing required. Just strain into cup and spray on a medium wet coat. Be careful it sprays like water and runs are nothing to worry about. I use a crumpled up Wal-mart bag and in a tapping motion laying the bag on the bike and lifting it off over and over again to give you a marble look. Only do a 2x2 foot area as the marblizer dries in about 2 to 3 mins. If the marblelizer dry before you are satisfied you can spray it over again lightly, enought to get it wet and continue the tapping of the bag. Let dry and you can clear. As always check tech manuals as temp and conditions varies dry time. Hope this helps.

You can use any color base to achieve the effect you want. You can purchase the HOK
pre-made color choices or buy nuetral marbilizer, add some pearl of your choice and you got only what you need, not a ton of extra. It's IMPORTANT that after you use the marbilizer that you A: spray adhesion promoter or B: spray on an intercoat clear(SG100) other wise you will run into delamination problems with the clear.

wow that what fast to get some help and info on what i am looking for i am new to this forum i am sure i'll be back again and again...
I have a 2000 Roadstar (purple) with a 1984 harley batwing fairing (black) and a set of Roadking flhp1 bags (blue) i have never done any painting before but i friend said he would help me paint it if i buy the stuff to do it so that is why i am looking for how to and what not to do.. info...
