I have painted a few helmets and bikes and I am in search of the best masking film for detailed graphics and murals on all of these curved and rounded surfaces that all these helmets and tanks and fenders have. I do a lot of drawing and cutting on tape that has been layed on the helmets, tanks and fenders. I guess the designers don't think about us..the artists when they design these things:) If the spray on material is used, can you use a regular gravity feed HVLP or siphon detail gun gun?

I perfer Spraylat Sign Strip Blue. Its a sprayable latex mask. You have to get it on very very thick or it won't work right. The down side of this vs. transfer or masking tape is that it takes a while to dry and you can't replace any of the peices you cut out. But, it gives me the cleanest lines. Also... use an old gun with a big tip and mix with about 10% water. Not too much water though cause, it will not build and run off.
