What is the best method for matching flames from one side of the helmet to the other. I have 2 helmets and the flames need to match on all 4 sides. I am very picky, and I want them to be as close to identicle as possible. I am doing the positive/negative flames so there is alot of taping to be matched. I have 1 helmet done so far, but I did it the hard way, Eyeballing it. Save me please.

Airartist, you can try the pounce method, there are plenty of posts on this subject just do a search. Helmets are pretty difficult to pounce becouse of the rounded shape. Flames arent suposed to be exactly duplicated,it looks better that way. you can do them pretty close and save your self alot of agervation. you can only see one side at a time

Just to let you all know. I cut strips of paper and taped them to the finished (1/8" flame tape)helmet. I used strips of paper so I could shape them to thee curved surface. Then I rubbed the paper with a pencil to get an impression of the finished flames from the 1st helmet. After that, I took the paper pattern and taped it to the 2nd helmet. A pounce wheel was used to transfer the flames to the helmet. It worked great, and now I can begin to paint. Thanks
