metalflakes

Howdy folks,
I did my first flame job on an auto this weekend.Tribal flames along the sides of a '92 dodge ram van.I'm pretty happy with them and I'll post some pics as soon as I can.Could not have done it without your help.
Moving along, a friend of mine now wants me to flame his '55 olds 88 lowrider. The car has a two-tone paint job( white pearl and teal).I plan on reversing the color scheme(white pearl flames on the teal and teal flames on the white pearl, front to back trunk and all). We're trying to keep the cost of materials low and practical so I'll be using createx auto air acrylic enamels. They have a really kool lookin irridescent teal.
I've been wanting to work with metalflakes for some time now and this seems to be the perfect opportunity to do a really radical flame job on a dayly driven lowrider.
I plan on laying down the design with 1/8" plastic tape, mask off everything and scuff the surface with 600 grit sandpaper. At that point I plan to lay a basecoat white and then the white pearl and teal.I'll have to add a catalyst in order to clear them with urethane. My friend lives near a Sherwin Williams automotive so I'll probably go there for the clearcoat.
Will I be able to get the metal flakes there? What colors or color combinations do they come in and how much should we expect to pay for them?Is it okay to mix them in with the clearcoat and shoot them in one step?I have a craftsman paint gun from sears will it work for this particular job or can anyone recommend a good inexpensive paint gun for the clearing process?
I know its a lot to ask , but any feedback from you guys will be truly appreciated.Let me know if I'm on the right track and if not ,please point me in the right direction.
This site is the koolest..

Are you sure you want to use an acrylic enamel and leave a tape edge with it and try to put urethane over it ? why not pick one type of a system and stick with it. as far as flake goes i am not experianced in SW but House of kolor has a large selection of flakes, even Kameleon flake. HOK has about 40 diffrent kinds of flakes and diffrent sizes
