Hey fellas,
I have a HVLP gravity feed gun with a 1.4mm nozzle that works fairly well. I've shot mini metalflakes through it with no problem. In the near future I'll be doin a custom job where I'll be shooting the biggest possible metalflakes I can find. What size gun is required for that kind of material and do you guys know of any kool web sites that offer metalflakes in different sizes and kolors?
Thanx for your feedback in advance.
P.S. The website upgrade rocks!!!

How 'bout using a stucco gun!

I haven't sprayed the real big flake for quite a while. When I did, I was using a Binks "canon" #7 at the time (a while ago guys

). I would definately use the biggest nozzle you can get.

House of Colors has some big flakes available (check your local auto paint supply store). I bought the flakes I used from a fiberglass place. They sold this in bags. You might also want to check out a local craft store.
Plan on using alot of clear!!!!!!

Thanks

Curt,
Metalflakes are like a metallic flake, but bigger in size. I'm sure you've seen the old bass boats that had a great deal of sparkle on them when the sun hits them. This is done using large metalflake chips.
You can view some metalflakes in a few different sizes on the House of Kolors Chart. If you do not have access to one of these charts, you can visit your local auto paint supply store (one that deals with House of Kolor paints) and ask them if you can take a look at it.
