minimum water filtration/seperation

Hello all, I'm new here but not new to painting.

I haven't painted a full vehicle in quite some time now, and I will be doing on again; this time with a small at home compressor. The climate is quite dry, but I have noticed some moisture droplets on small projects in the past. I don't want this to be an issue for this full paint job, however it will be the only paint job I plan to do in the next several years. With that said, I don't want to spend several hundred on filtration equipment. What is the minimum I can get away with for a one time job?

Any links to recommended products would be appreciated as well.

Thanks all!

I would say the absolute minimum would be to by a 'filter ball' which goes on the end of the gun and after the fitting.
These are about 3" in diameter.

Thank for the reply

I have never used a ball filter without other filtration in place. Will this typically produce an acceptable moisture level for a single paint job? Perhaps I should not have worded this as absolute minimum filtration, but minimum acceptable filtration. I've never used the cheap off-the-shelf water traps or desiccant filters. Will these help? If so, which is better? Will one of those with a ball filter clean up 99% of the moisture for a single job?

Thanks again!

I also have a Sharpe water separator which I guess seems to help to.
I've never had any issues so I can't really tell you if they actually helped keep moisture and oil out.

I think you're probably looking for someone that had problems with moisture and what they changed or added to keep it out.
