mixing colors

I have some leftover Dupont bases and would like to try doing a YOR flame job on a sportster tank. I have 1/2 pint of Dandelion yellow and 1/2 pint of Torch red. Can I mix the two colors to get an orange? Also I have just shy of a quart of PPG DBC 500 Color Blender. I used it as an intercoat clear on my last project and didn't like the way it sprayed. Probably the cheap $20 detail gun I was using although it sprayed Chromaclear 7500 and PPG Concept DCU 2021 OK. Would I use this to blend the red and yellow together? I'm not clear on what this blender is used for. I've been told that it can be mixed with bases to make a candy color (sort of but not the real thing). It says on the can "for use with DELTRON 2000 Basecoat (DBC) only. Can I use it with the Dupont anyway? I know I have a lot of questions here but I just do this as a hobby. I have very little experience, but really have a burning desire to learn about custom painting and apply what I learn to my other healthy addiction; motorcycles. This is by far my favorite website. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Shoot all of your flames yellow and then come back with the torch red with an airbrush or detail gun and fade backwards from the tips of the flames (red) toward the front of the flames to fade then into the orange. You shouldn't need to mix an orange up -- also fade the edges of the flames with the red too -- Bones!~
