mixing paint brands

I'm getting ready to paint my truck, all bodywork is done. I was wondering if I will have any trouble mixing paint brands. I have painted my door jams, rockers the back of the cab, and the front of the box with a enamel Valspare 4432-16 gloss black single stage. Will this cause any reaction if I paint the rest of the truck with Omni base / clear.
The black Base coat is a Omni MBC9300
Clear is a MC161 High Solids urethane.

I don't think you will. I haven't sprayed Omni for quite a while, but I remember that wasn't too aggressive of a paint.
Just to make sure, I would sand off any areas that have the Valspar black went onto an adjacent panel

Sounds like you should be save to if the blacks are not the same shade. I guess the only area you'd have to be concerned with would be the back of the cab. If you did the cab corners to, these butt up against the door, so you might see a difference in the shade of black.
I think your rockers are low enough that you would not have to be concerned.

Thanks Taz
The area of the cab is behind the box, so I don't think any color change will make any difference. I just didn't want paint bubble or negitive reaction
that will cause me any trouble. I guess if it reacts, and I can just try again eah. This is a cool site. I haven't painted in about 10 years.
This forum has all the info a guy needs to get back on the garage and play.
Thanks Jim

Okay, good luck to you.
Just be sure and remove any overspray that got on those adjacent panels (if you did get any), just in case.
