OK what i mean is: could i use a nason primer before painting, or could i use a dupont or ppg clear over the HOK bases? Im just curious because you can do that with ppg and dupont with no problems, but they seem to stress not to do that with HOK. Just trying to get all my ducks in a row. Ive got a small color starter kit im gonna try and see how i like it. Sorry for bugging you so much its just no one around here uses HOK at all.

There are some things that will mix but it's an expensive experiment finding out.I haven't used HOK but they are a somewhat different breed than the rest from what I gather.Scott and EZ are the experts on this stuff.I did watch a guy do countless Marbilized jobs with DuPont 7800 clear and it sheeted off later. The best approach is stay with the same line.I do use only PPGs wash and epoxy(DP) no matter what.

i use PPG primer religiously under house of kolor paint i use it every day at work ( the primer ) so its a product i know and trust and yes i have used PPG clear on top of house of kolor base coats, it buffs a hell of a lot easier than HOK clear, but HOK clear is cheaper. the manufacters say you cant intermix brand name products so they can keep selling you their own products. that is as far as i go though mixing just the primers and clears i dont think i would mix manufacters bases you can some times get a funky reaction

Ok thats Kind of what i thought. I figured the primers and clears would be fine. I don't have any plans on messing with reducers or bases. Thats' just stupid. But i just wanted to be sure, cause i really like the primers and clears im using
