Instead of using the metallic in the base any ideas on what the color will turn if i use a pearl instead. Was thinking of doing flames on top of the plum crazy purple and using pearl instead of metallic in the purple to off set the color.

Probably wouldn't make enough of a difference to do the flames with. You might want to use "straight" pearl toner (mixed with some basecoat clear or SG-100)
A white pearl over the purple would be nice. You could also try the violet pearl over the Plum Crazy.
