A real tits up job Flamethrower!
A shame you don't have somewhere to store it until next winter when you can do the other mods to it. Aw what the hell, we're all friends here...I have a nice garage here in Michigan that I can let you keep it in for the summer! I won't ride it....really I promise.

It's a '97, but in case the bags are throwin' ya, it originally was a police model. It never saw duty. I bought it off of a Seattle Blue Knight (Drill team and escort service). And though I know it's a couch, I'll never get rid of it. I rode 2220 miles in two days on that bike. I love highway time and miles after miles. Now, I'd like a chopper in the shed too, but I doubt you can put that kind of saddle time in on one of those chop street fighters. You choppin youngsters ought to know that chicks dig the big fattys too! (And that's a good thing, cause ya can't stay young forever...)

You don't have to be old to ride a bagger. I'm not quite 30 and ride one now. I got my dad's 97 Valkyrie when he passed away. I'm working on a paint job now(I did a big indian mural job on it for him over the last 2 years). Simple black with the pow symbol on the top of the trunk bag and some Mann inspired ghost rider stuff on the saddles. Something we were both into and it's a memorial for at least a year. Hope to take it to washington with Rolling Thunder this memorial day.
Next year its going to be all out custom.

Flame--
Just had to poke a little at ya.
There are alot of times I've been 100+ miles into a ride and wishing I had even a touch of suspension....

Like the post above said, I like the "stealthy" look of those flames. I think alot of people go overboard when painting the FL's, just because there's so much that can be painted. You got it just right.

Yeah, I was trying to surprise my wife. She was running a poker run charity thing on Saturday and I left Norman, OK. at 8:30 AM on Thursday, rode 982 to Laramie, WY. Woke up and bolted at 5:00AM and rode home 1229 miles on Friday. Got in the driveway at 12:15AM. My butt was sore, but I still got up at 7AM and rode the 100 mile poker run.

I need a dang good reason to do that much pushin tho. I'd rather take my time and give my bike and my bones an easy pace.

YOU DID THIS?

Man, this is BEAUTIFUL!

I'm considering putting yellow, Orange and red flames on a white police Road King, but somehow can't envision it.

Where did you get your ideads for a base color?

Thanks for the compliment! I bought it 1 year old ('97 Police) from a Seattle Blue KNight drill team member. Rode it black and white until I just couldn't stand it any more. I thought about going with white base, but after a lot of looking and thinking I decided on the black base because it shows off the pearls and flakes so much better. To select colors, I bought a House of Kolor paint chip book (around $35-40) and then proceded to change my mind about 20 times. You can get an idea of HOK colors at http://hokpaint.com/chips.html
But it helps if you can get the book in your hands so you can take it outside and look how the sun and shade effect the colors and flakes.

Most places that sell HOK products will have the paint chip book for you to look at. If you want to buy one for yourself (recommended) try Autobodydepot

Anyway, good luck with your upcoming Roadking project. You can ask Scott for my email if you want to get in touch.

Take care,

FT
