If you are applying the primer to the bare plastic I would consider using an adhesion promoter. I’ve used it on truck bumpers and it really helps the paint stick and will help when the bumper flexes. Hok has a similar product.

If oyu're going to use DP use the 401 hardner and wait 30 minutes before you spray it after it's mixed. If you sand it down to the raw urethane make sure the scratches are at least the equivolent of 600 wet paper. Then it's best to put a coat of 801 plastic primer on it.The DP with the 401 hardner will stick very good without the 801,but it's better to use it on raw plastics.

I am getting ready to paint a car, and this will be the first time I have used HOK paint on a eurathane (flexible plastic) bumper. At this point I am trying to assemble a materials list.
I will be stripping the bumpers down to bare plastic to start with.

Which HOK clearcoat will be the most flexible?
Will I have to add a flex agent to the paint, primer, sealer or clearcoat?
Would using an adhesion promoter anywhere in the process be a good idea?
What primer/sealer will work best? (The car will be red, I am thinking PPG red epoxy primer will be best, but like I said I am just getting a materials list ready so I am open to suggestions.)

Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated as well, thanks!

I can't find any tech sheets for the 801 plastic primer, does it require or reccomend a sealer, or is it just prime and paint like the DP?
